Meaning Of Home Contest 2024
Inspire your students and give back!
The Meaning of Home is an annual writing contest for students in Grades 4, 5 and 6 in support of Habitat for Humanity Canada. Students across Canada are invited to submit a poem or essay explaining what home means to them. It’s a great way to engage your students in an interactive and fun way, and it teaches youth the importance of safe, affordable housing.
Why get involved?
- Each entry results in a $10 donation to your local Habitat for Humanity.
- Help students improve their critical thinking, communication and creative skills.
- You’re helping families build strength, stability and independence through affordable homeownership.
- Winners will receive a grant to direct to a local Habitat, a pizza party for their class and a tablet!
